Clover Mites are tiny (about the size of a grain of black pepper). The Clover Mite comes from outdoors, they cannot survive inside unless conditions are moist. These mites feed on plants, not OUR food, or blood. They are a real nuisance – for a short time in the Spring and early summer. Once the average temperature gets to be over 80, they will disappear. Use a vacuum to remove them from walls & fabric, we DO NOT recommend spraying pesticides inside on counters and furniture for clover mite control. We suggest treatment to exterior siding, mulch beds, and dense vegetation are better at reducing a clover mite population. Look at the siding on the sunny side of the house, you will see the mites crawling on the structure – make it difficult for them to enter by checking your caulking and seal the clover mites OUT. If you have them inside already – run a de-humidifier to reduce the time they can survive indoors. These tips will not eliminate a population, but they can help manage the problem.
